Shooting the Yogis

A monochrome adventure....
Steven Bumbry Yogi

Recently, I have had the pleasure of working with an awesome group of Yogis! All from Sid Yoga Center in Towson, Maryland. You just never know where your camera will take you!
Steven, my nephew, reached out to me to create images for his new, in progress, website. He can be found on FB at Stevenbumbryyoga. Steven is conducting a workshop in Costa Rica next year with Eleanor Bramwell. Here's the link if you are interested: click here. It should be awesome!
Sid McNairy Yogi
After Steven posted and shared some of my work, Sid asked if I could work with him creating special shots for a possible book project he is thinking about. Sid has a fabulous Yoga studio in Towson, Md. Sid has a Native American heritage and has such great spirit! The night before our shoot he made a Dream Catcher ~ Dream catchers are one of the most fascinating traditions of Native Americans. The traditional dream catcher was intended to protect the sleeping individual from negative dreams, while letting positive dreams through. He brought his drum and special attire he wanted to capture in the images. Sid is conducting a workshop in Sedona in May 2017. Here is the link if you are interested: it looks fabulous! Click here. The image above was processed using Google Nik software and Photoshop.

Well then, Sid IV, who also teaches,at Sid Yoga, got on the photo train and asked me to do some work with him. So I said yes. His vision was a parking lot space .. so we found one that was perfect. The gritty texture of the stairwell in the parking lot filtered the harsh light. The super poses of Sid IV made for a great shoot.
