Longwood Gardens Christmas

Today I made a run up the road to Longwood Gardens. It was a pleasant surprise to see they had finished the construction on their new entrance to the conservatory. I made a quick spin through the conservatory while my gear was warming up. The traditional area of holiday decor was now decorated with pink and gold and lavender? an interesting holiday color scheme....and a TV crew was set up in the Exhibition Hall preventing any opportunity to shoot the display from the center court area. The traditional red and green decor is now located in the East Wing of the conservatory, so I headed there for some HDR work. The day light was so bright I was bracketing up to 9 exposures to get all the details and then the fans were running so I had some movement between brackets I didn't like when I processed them...so these are processed first in Photomatix for the horizontal shot and Nik HDR Pro for the vertical tree shot then run through Snapart2 pastel, which I like for "impressions" of the scene.

This image was made with the Lensbaby and is an in camera overlay, then processed in Snapart2.

I never made it to the Orchid room, Mediterranean Room, or Rose Room to do any shooting. But did make a few other images. Should be a fun day on Friday with the Field Trip Group.
