Sunrise Lady's View Overlook Killarney~ Rainbows and Midges!

This day we met the Midges in full force!!! This was a calm overcast morning with clouds moving overhead and spits of rain....we set up on the overlook just before dawn and waited for the light, swatting, running and covering up from the dreaded Irish Midges! They were horrible!!! Bob Towery resorted to pulling his knit cap over his face, which I tried to crawl under (someone got a picture of that)....every once in a while I had to just run around swatting the buggers! Fortunately I had gloves and my hooded rainslicker, but really those bugs will even fly into your mouth, nose and eyes! I bet it would have made a funny video...but seriously they were everywhere....! My friend Annette said she loved the little u-tube clip on the Midge I posted in another blog, so here it is again if you missed the first link...Midges Everywhere. Not one of us could have predicted that the skies would turn colors and that we would be given a magnificent rainbow! It was like a reward for tolerating the Midges!
At least we came away with a few shots...
Here's a little Irish Rainbow Blessing:
May a rainbow run beside you in a sky that's always blue. And may happiness fill your heart each day your whole life through.
(and may you never run into the midges!)
